Today I received my newest phone, the iPhone 6s. I have been playing with it for hours, and I am in love. I must say, I am upgrading from an iPhone 5s, so this is quite a step up for me. Before we go into how awesome the phone is, let's go through a few choices that had to be made.
The first and easiest choice for me was the color. Apple, do you know your colors? You have done so well thus far, and then you bring out this so called "rose gold." I own plenty of rose gold jewelry because the metal is my second favorite after sterling silver. I'll have you know that rose gold is NOT pink. Below is a rose gold bracelet from Tiffany & Company. Compare that to the "rose gold" iPhone.
Apple, just go ahead and call it pink; you aren't fooling anyone.
My next choice was what size. The iPhone 6s Plus has its pros and its cons. The pros are that for someone like me, who uses her phone for reading books, the large screen is helpful. I was also able to hold the phone in one hand and reach my thumb to the other side. The cons, however, outweighed the pros. It is too big for my pockets, and that just does not work for me. The biggest con was that when I held it up to my face for a phone call, I looked like an idiot with a phone the size of my face. My choice then easily became a gold iPhone 6s with 64GB of storage. However, getting the phone became a challenge.
First off, AT&T wouldn't sell my brother the phones because the account had my father's name on it. After going home and spending 30 minutes on the phone resolving the issue, we were finally "allowed" to buy a phone, if I could find one. Of the five stores in my area, only one had the phone I wanted. I went straight to that store and received my beautiful new phone.
Now let's look at how cool this phone is! Most of what I will point out is due to the iOS 9 update. One feature that is just for the new phone is the front camera flash. No longer will your selfies have to suffer poor lighting. My favorite features, however, come from iOS 9.
With the new update, Siri pops up at the sound of your voice, even when your phone is locked. Also, another feature is being able to go back to the application you previously had opened as shown in the picture below.
Not to mention longer battery and the battery saving tool. The 3D touch is absolutely badass. I personally have no idea how live photos work yet, but I'm sure it's cool, too. Honestly, the camera doesn't seem any better. Overall, I would recommend this phone to anyone. However, if you have an iPhone 6, you do not need the iPhone 6s unless you absolutely have to have a selfie camera with flash. (P.S.—If that is you, I'm judging you.) So run out and get your new phone. You deserve it!
