Dane Deaner

As I promised, here is part two of my review of Taylor Swift's new album, "reputation".

10. "King of My Heart"

This song has been stuck in my head for days. I wake up singing "King of My Heart" and I don't mind it at all. The pre-chorus is my favorite part of the song with a fast-moving tempo and dance rhythm. Here are my favorite lines, which is the entirety of the pre-chorus:

"Salute to me, I'm your American Queen

And you move to me like I'm a Motown beat

And we rule the kingdom inside my room

'Cause all the boys and their expensive cars

With their Range Rovers and their Jaguars

Never took me quite where you do"

Fun fact: this part of the song throws shade at Taylor's ex-boyfriend, Calvin Harris, who drives a Range Rover!

11. "Dancing With Our Hands Tied"

"Dancing With Our Hands Tied" is about a rough patch in a relationship. She mentions a "25-year-old" in the song, which could be referencing herself when she was dating Calvin Harris and also had eyes for Tom Hiddleston. This song sounds like it's an ode to a lover, but also the distress that they face in the relationship.

12. "Dress"

Every time I hear this song, it reminds me of "Versace On the Floor" by Bruno Mars. In "Dress," Taylor sings basically the woman's point of view of "Versace On the Floor."

"Say my name and everything just stops

I don't want you like a best friend

Only bought this dress so you could take it off, take it off "

This song is overtly sexual but fits Taylor's sound in reputation.

13. "This is Why We Can't Have Nice Things"

I cannot stop listening to this song! It is so catchy and relatable. In fact, this song is about Kanye West and all of the drama between him and Taylor.

"And therein lies the issue

Friends don't try to trick you

Get you on the phone and mind-twist you

And so I took an ax to a mended fence

But I'm not the only friend you've lost lately

If only you weren't

So shady"

I love how she calls him out and his "shady" behavior. I 100% agree with Taylor in this song! You go, girl!

14. "Call It What You Want"

"Call It What You Want" alludes to Taylor's 2008 single "Love Story" with mention of castles, kings, and queens. It's her new love story that's more mature and sensual. My favorite line of this song is:

"All the drama queens taking swings

All the jokers dressing up as kings"

This line could not be any truer.

15. "New Year's Day"

Last, but not least, "New Year's Day" is a love ballad to a lover that is always there for you. Whether you are cleaning up after a New Year's party or in a taxi going home, he is there and loving every moment with you. This is a type of love that we all hope to have.

Overall, I loved "reputation" and I can't wait for Taylor to release music videos to the songs! All I have to say is, when is the next album coming out?! I love you, Taylor!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
