Today I will be reviewing for you some more awesome products from Lush. Just like their other products, Lush's facial cleansers are natural and great for the skin. Here are six of the cleansers that I have tried, and my opinions on them.
1. Angels on Bare Skin
Angels is the first cleanser I tried from Lush, after the employee told me that it was Lush's most popular cleanser. It contains ground almonds and lavender oil, and is supposed to be gentle on the skin while still exfoliating. While I loved how it smelled, this particular cleanser irritated my skin and reminded me that it's important to always remember and do a spot test on your wrist to make sure your product isn't going to harm your skin. Still, even though it was a bust for me, Angels on Bare Skin continues to be a fan favorite with Lush addicts.
2. Fresh Farmacy
Fresh Farmacy is a bar cleanser great for acne-prone skin. It completely cleared me up. However, it contains calamine powder which, though good for calming skin, can be a bit drying as well. While I was free of acne, my skin had never been drier after using this. I completely recommend it for those with more oily acne-prone skin, but for those on the drier side, maybe stay away.
3. Movis
After using Fresh Farm, I went to Movis to remoisturize my dried out skin. This cleanser looks and smells like bread, which sounds super weird, I know. But, it was really nice and helped save my skin for a little while. Until, that is, my skin bounced back and this cleanser became a bit too moisturizing. It clogged up my pores and made me break out in acne (which I had just cleared up with Fresh Farm). So, I recommend this yummy smelling cleanser for those with super dry skin, especially in the winter time.
4. Herbalism
I love love love Herbalism. This one is also aimed at oily, acne-prone skin, but it does not dry out skin like Fresh Farmacy did. It was wonderful for acne and cleared my skin up. After a couple of months of using it, though, I felt as if it sort of stopped working. The acne didn't come back or anything, but my skin didn't feel as clean or soft as it had when I first started using it. That is the only downside I have for this cleanser. Otherwise, it's fantastic.
5. Aqua Marina
This is the cleanser I am currently using and I love it. Like Fresh Farmacy, it has calamine powder to soothe sensitive skin, but it also contains bits of seaweed which provide just enough moisture to balance the skin out. It isn't as quick working as Fresh Farm has been to clear my acne, but I feel that it cleans my skin far better than Herbalism had. It has a little bit of a funky smell because of the seaweed (I personally like it, since it reminds me of the ocean), but I still think it's great cleanser.
Thus concludes this part of my journey in using Lush cleansers. Hopefully you'll find one that's perfect for you!
