Reverse Racism isn't Real

But y'all already knew that.

You all have got some damn nerve, let's just start there.

Reverse Racism never has and will never be a thing, so please save yourself the embarrassment and keep your mouth shut for further years to come. Racism against white people can't exist because of systematic power. Power that black people & PoC do not possess. If a group of people has little or no power over you institutionally and systematically, they definitely cannot define the terms of your existence, and they sure as hell can’t limit your opportunities. So tell me why you want to experience having an entire system against you so badly?

Why do you crave to feel racism? Because you absolutely have no idea what racism is. You are so angry when people tell you reverse racism doesn't exist and it baffles me. Are you angry that you are being treated as actual human beings? That you are treated more than fair, that you are not talked down to as if you were lesser human beings, that you aren't judged solely by the color of your skin, but by your actions? And even then when your actions are negative, we are still told to give you the benefit of the doubt, a privilege marginalized groups are not afforded.

Where is our equality? Because I'm pretty sure we're all in agreement that we've been asking for centuries now. If you're a white person who believes that equality means revenge on white people that is your personal problem. You feeling that way is a reflection of yourself, and that ain't got shit to do with me. Black people and people of color wanting true equality isn't taking anything away from white people, but you know what it will do? Help dismantle white supremacy and white privilege.

And in light of recent bullshit events (which I'll discuss in a future article,) isn't that something any DECENT human being would want? Wouldn't you want to see something that relies and capitalizes on the continuous fear and oppression of Black people & PoC to keep white people in control of resources and power cease to exist? I know I would!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
