Through the years I've revamped my wardrobe time after time. Each time I do so it seems to be connected to one central influence, the films that I watch. From being immersed in the world of cinema I become inspired by the characters wardrobes and do my best to emulate it (at least enough to where I could possibly be a character in the film if that were possible). I mean what better way to get your style influence than from the cinema around you. Here's a few films to give your wardrobe inspo.

Dazed and Confused (1993)

Jodi's denim on denim combos were to die for. Not only do I loveeeee seventies fashion, but the subtle details of her fit, from the v necked sleeveless top to the simple choker she pairs with it, Jodi won in terms of fashion in this film.

Carrie (1976)

Okay, I know this is the prom from hell but prior to shit hitting the fan Carrie looked pretty good in her sleek Prom dress. Although not every day is prom there are perfect events where you can fashion simple pastel pink silk gown. Everyone needs it in their wardrobe!

Goonies (1985)

Andy's yellow letterman sweater is a staple. It's oversized, comfy and cute as well as the one perfect collegiate piece you need in your closet. If you don't have school spirit, at least have spirit for yourself and sport a huge letter represent your first name like she did and you've added another film inspired piece to your wardrobe.

Clueless (1995)

I'm honestly surprised if you don't already have some form of these iconic outfits in your wardrobe already if it's not the skirt or the vest. Cher and the students of Beverly Hills were truly ahead of the game.

Scooby Doo (2002)

We all know Daphne is a fashion forward queen with her sixties inspired looks. End of.

Rush Hour 2 (2001)

Forget a little black dress and search for a little white one. Isabella not only looked bad ass, but looked sleek while being one too. This outfit is definitely a winner for everyone.

Meet Joe Black (1998)

Susan...Susan did what she had to do with this sheer floral spaghetti strapped dress. Now upon first description it sounds ugly and on most people it probably would be, BUT a spaghetti strapped dress isn't a bad piece to have in your wardrobe. It's simple, yet sweet and you can make it your own depending on how you accessorize it.

Two Can Play That Game (2001)

Everybody NEEDS and I repeat NEEDS a bold red staple in their closet. Why not let it be a button up coat like conny's?

Poetic Justice (1993)

High waisted jeans are not only a must, but bold hats are too. If you can't express yourself through headwear like Justice then why are you even trying at all.

Grease (1978)

Sandy came and conquered. One of the most iconic outfits out of the whole list by far, Sandy made her presence known as one should in any black leather jumpsuit. Now I don't have this exact outfit, I do have a few black off the shoulder tops to emulate my inner grease character.

Without these characters, women would still be sitting in the background of our favorite shows. These women are not only trailblazers for female empowerment, but role models for women worldwide. With that, here are 15 of the smartest, sassiest ladies gracing our screens that remind us that women do, indeed, rule:
