I grew up in a super small town in Pennsylvania where everyone knows your name and your entire life history. Back at home, people knew where you were most times, who you hung out with, and all of the sports/activities you did in school. At the time, this knowledge was a mixture of both comfort and annoyance, but thinking back on it now, it’s all just kind of crazy.
Crazy to think that this was life day in and day out just a few short years ago, and now today everything but the way the town looked has changed. I’ve changed, my friends have changed, and my life as I knew it has changed.
All in a good way though. The lessons I have learned outside of my little hometown have shaped me into the person I am today and they are things that I will forever be grateful for. The friends I have lost and gained along the way have helped me immensely and the way my life is now may be a 180 difference from what it was before, but I wouldn’t change it for the world.
And you truly never fully comprehend that so much has changed until you return home and begin talking to those you haven’t seen in a while. Really taking notice that they don’t know anything about your life now or that you are not the same person you were a few years ago.
However, with this change comes gratitude that life does keep changing. Because we never would be able to fully appreciate this life if we never got to see all of the different aspects it can offer
