Hey, you. Yes you, the girl with the fear of breaking the wall down to trust AGAIN. I know. I've been there. Each and every time I've given trust, it has been broken. I have been betrayed by best friends, family members and partners. It is said that the human mind can only maintain complete trust once for each person. Once broken, it's never the same. It never gets easier. At one point, you feel like it's pointless to trust anybody else again because you are tired of being repeatedly let down. I know how it feels like when does it ever stop? The betrayal? The lies? The backstabbing? I get it, I truly do but time heals everything. It always does. Time will help restore the broken trust.
" God can restore what is broken and change it into something amazing. All you need is faith". - Joel 2:25
In reality, knowing you are being lied to is worse than being hurt by the truth, because some truths only make you angry, while being lied to destroys your trust. I know it feels like the only person that you can truly trust and depend on is yourself. You feel like you cannot give the power of trust to someone else. Sure, you can choose to trust the person to fall in love with, to make decisions over something with family or to talk about personal things in your life with your best friend but don't expect that they will never disappoint you because at one point in life, they will. There will always be a way for them to break your trust when you least expect it. If you truly want to believe in trust again, trust in yourself and then everything else will fall into place itself. Remember only you truly know what's the best for you, not your parents, siblings, cousins, best friend or even your partner.
You've got this. Everything will be okay. Just go out there and let it go. Let all the burdens, sorrow and anger go. Learn to love and forgive. Even when it looks impossible, when all the odds are against you and it seems permanent, the Creator of the universe, the Most High God can bring your trust back to life. You have to be good person enough to forgive the people but not stupid enough to trust them again. When you fully trust a person without any doubt, you get one of these two results: a person for life or a lesson for life. I know it is hard but it is possible to rebuild and restore what has been lost. It takes time and lots of hard work but the first step of healing is to complete full responsibility for the actions without justifying answers. Then it involves of being willingness to accept the consequences but the worst part is something that we humans tend not to be good at which is waiting. The rebuilding of trust is a process and sometimes a slow one. Have faith because trust matters. Go free your soul and embrace the beauty of truth.
