8 Boston Restaurants To Bring Your Parents To

As Parents Weekend approaches at Boston University, we are all pumped to see our families and have some REAL food. BU’s dining halls do quite a good job at providing enough options, but let's be real: dining hall food is not enough. So, here is a list of restaurants to have your parents take you to when they get to Boston,
so you can get some yummy and delicious food to keep you going until Thanksgiving break arrives.

1. Paparazzi: This Italian restaurant located on Newbury Street makes everything from scratch. Since Paparazzi makes everything from scratch, it is great for people who have food allergies, as it allows for accommodations to be made to fit your dietary needs. All the dishes are delicious and authentic. I highly recommend the gnocchi di Sorrento and salmone alla griglia. If you don’t feel full after your pasta dinner, I highly recommend staying for dessert. The warm brownie sundae is a Barry family favorite! Paparazzi has a warm atmosphere and delicious food that will make your special time with your family worthwhile.

2. Sonsie: Located on Newbury Street, this eclectic restaurant provides an array of foods that makes it easy for everyone to find something on the menu. This is a Boston brunch favorite. So take your family to Sonsie for Sunday brunch and ask for a table that faces Newbury Street so you can enjoy your brunch while having a view of the hustle and bustle on Newbury. Hey, you may be sitting at a table Tom Brady and Gisele Bünchden sat at as they love to eat at the front tables at Sonsie.

3. Mela: Located in Boston’s South End, this authentic Indian restaurant provides Indian food with an added twist. Although it may be a little out of the way, it is definitely worthwhile. If your family enjoys ethnic food than I would definitely give Mela a try!

4. Casa Romero: Mexican food is always a good option. This Mexican restaurant is off the beaten path on Gloucester Street, but it is well worth the step of Newbury Street. Once you walk down the stairs to the restaurant, you are hit with an authentic Mexican dining experience and food. Enjoy some chips and salsa while filling in your family on all that this semester has brought so far. The food delivers on all notes and is a wonderful place to take the family.

5. Grill 23: If you want your parents to really treat you to a good steak dinner then I think that Grill 23 would be the perfect place. Grill 23 is an upscale steakhouse that is highly raved about by foodies. It is located in the Back Bay and offers a dining experience that spoils diners. If you are looking for a good piece of steak then Grill 23 is the place to go.

6. Legal Sea Foods: Boston is known for its accessibility to good seafood and Legal Sea Foods definitely delivers on that. There are multiple locations around Boston with different menus and setups, so the options for seafood are endless.

7. Paramount: Located in Beacon Hill, this Boston classic is a wonderful place to grab breakfast or lunch if you are brave enough to wait in the line that wraps around onto Charles Street on Saturdays and Sundays. Although the line may seem daunting, the food is definitely worth it. I highly recommend the pancakes and the French toast. It does not get better than a morning spent at the Paramount with family.

8. Thinking Cup: If you are shopping on Newbury with your family make sure to stop by Thinking Cup. Thinking Cup is the cutest coffee shop that offers yummy coffee, lattes, sandwiches and lots of pastries. It is a wonderful place to step in and refuel before you continue to shop!

Boston offers so many more wonderful options that I failed to mention, but these are a few of my family’s Boston favorites. No matter where you eat remember that you are lucky that your family made the trip to Boston to visit you. Make your time memorable with your family! Enjoy.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
