Everyone dreads the holidays when you’re single. Well, let me tell you that after being single for the holidays for 20 years now, it’s not that bad after all! There’s no need to deal with your significant others talkative mother or that awkward uncle that after four years still doesn’t know your name. Here are 10 reasons why being single during the holidays is something to celebrate.
1. There is no need to stress to find the perfect gift for bae.
2. There is no debate over whose family you will spend Christmas Eve with and whose family you will spend Christmas Day.
3. You don't have to get dressed up to impress anyone – it's socially acceptable to stay in your pajamas all day.
4. You do not have to worry about making anyone but yourself happy.
5. There is no awkward encounter with bae's family where you don't know if you should hug them or shake their hand when meeting them for the first time.
6. You don't have to pretend to like that actual ugly Christmas sweater that your babe's mom bought for you.
7. You can eat as much food as you want without being judged by anyone.
8. Chugging excessive amounts of alcohol is acceptable since you don't have to leave the comfort of your home.

9. Since you do not need to stress over impressing anyone there is no need to hold in the inevitable burp that accompanies the chugging.
10. When the buzz hits you don't be afraid to get up on the table and dance along to your favorite Christmas song – if you were at your significant others house this would totally not be okay.
During this holiday season enjoy the laughter, smiles and endless courses of food with your family. There is no need to be dependent on anyone else to make you happy. You are perfect just the way you are!
