Tissues and blankets and tea, oh my!

10 Relatable Moments For When You Are Sick
Kathryn McSherry

It’s final season and you know what that means! Yep! It’s sickness time!

Over the past week now, I have been developing a cough. The cough eventually turned into a sore throat and is now a full-blown snotty, runny, ridiculous cold.

And I have a lot of feelings about it.

So here I am, drinking some tea under a fuzzy blanket, watching the snow fall out my window (because upstate New York never takes a break from the cold weather) and writing this article for all of you.

Here are 10 relatable moments for when you are sick.

1. You wake up with that feeling of a sore throat.

And think to yourself “oh nooooOOooooOOOO!”

2. You begin to down tea, Dayquil, and cough drops' like there is no tomorrow.

Give me all the drugs.

3. But then you realize that sickness is inevitable.

And that everyone else on your floor is feeling the same way.

4. So you hope for the best.

Nap time 24/7.

5. But then you start to question if the cold medicine is actually making things worse for you.

Hmmmm.

6. So you stop taking the medicine and try some home remedies.

Hopefully, the inter-webs won’t do you wrong.

7. And then you know you’re sick and spend that morning in bed just like ughhhhhhhhHHHHHHHHHH.

Relatable content right here folks.

8. Then you realize you have a test and forgot your tissue box in your dorm so you have to deal with your runny nose the whole time.

And it doesn’t. Stop. Running.

9. And then the sneezes come.

Three, four, five times in a row.

10. And then it’s gone. Yay!!!!

Bless this nose and the fact that I can breathe normally again.

All in all, I hate being sick.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
