Growing up in household where I was the youngest, I always admired my big sister and I still do. As a young girl, I looked up my sister because she was the closest in age to me and I thought she was the coolest. I admired her style, her confidence, her beauty and her grace. Most of all, I loved how my sister was my second mommy when we were growing up. I was her shadow, whether she liked it or not. I was there to bother her and her friends would gush at how adorable I was. I photo bomb her pictures all the time and beg to go places with them, occasionally being included. Those times I felt so cool and it would make my day.
I remember her process of actually doing my hair! I had a lot of hair, way too much of everything for my mom to manage, so my sister stepped in. By the time I was done at my sister's salon, I knew I was the "fly-est" baby on the block.
Looking back on pictures, I see my sister slayed my hair! Besides doing my hair, she would paint my nails. I think that's the main reason why I am obsessed with my nails. I believe my sister got "nail fever" from my grandmother. One of my fondest memories of my grandma is her beautiful, long and healthy nails. I've never seen anything else like it. She kept them painted in her favorite colors, pinks or reds and she always kept them perfectly painted. My mom, sister and I all aspire to keep that legacy alive in memory of my beautiful grandma.
I still admire my sister and everything she does. She is so much like our mom and grandma — a true supermom. She is one of the hardest working people I know, and I am so blessed to have a sister like mine and everyday I feel like she gets more and more beautiful.
My sister offers the best advice because I everything I talk to her about she has been through before. She is brutally honest, and sometimes her opinion scares me, but I know she means well and I need to hear it. My big sis will never let me down. I am confident to say she will always support me.
My sister has two beautiful daughters to whom she is supermom to. Everyday she gets up bright and early and goes to work to make sure my nieces will have a great future. She does all of this on her own and I will forever admire that about her. It is incredible to see how much she cares for my nieces, as I was her first baby. She got all the practice she needed on me as a child, and when the time came she was ready to be a mother. She was always maternal so I knew she could do it. Everyday I look forward to watching my big sister grow in life and accomplish her goals.
She inspires me.
Our bond is unbreakable, because we are sisters. A bond like this unique, it can not be duplicated, and I will forever cherish it.
