College. Living the life of not having your parents patrolling your every move and the ability to hang with friends, who would want anything interrupting that form of freedom? Everyone has always told me sure, you'll meet the perfect guy! You'll meet in a coffee shop and accidentally grab the same latte, and it will be amazing!

Honestly, I don’t want the mushy, PDA stuff when I’m trying to get to class or talk to someone new. Okay, I’m not totally bashing relationships. I'm just simply stating how being single during college is probably the best thing for you right now.

Here’s six of my personal thoughts:

1. You ARE NOT alone.

Even though you’re not “with someone” that doesn’t mean you have to be alone. This is college, not everyone is in a relationship. Go out, meet new people, do new things, and explore!

2. The stories that run your life now will definitely be fond memories later.

In the future, when your grand kids are pestering you about your wild college days, the last thing they want to hear about is you is sitting on the couch on a Skype date with some kid from lecture. These are supposed to be the wildest years of your life, no regrets.

3. B.F.F.L. over B.F.

This is the time you will have the biggest group of friends in a span of four years. These are your gals, your clique, your squad, these are the people that when you have nothing or need someone, they will be there for you. I mean who would you rather watch a Channing Tatum movie with while eating pints of Ben and Jerry’s with, your B.F. or your B.F.F.L.?

4. You can finally shamelessly gaze at your hot orientation leader.

Okay, I don’t promote this, but if he has a 3.7 GPA, is a senior, and he happens to have a nice nice six-pack, then, go for it! I mean, flirtatiously asking someone about where your class is shouldn’t be the end of the world, live life for YOU.

5. Take extra classes and participate in campus clubs.

This is the time to expand your mind and open doors for yourself. Start taking that French class you've been pining over. You don’t need, nor should you, have anyone holding you down with decisions to better yourself. So, go ace that French course, you can do it!

6. Explore, and as cliche as it is, find yourself.

This is self-explanatory, and the most important reason on this list. Don't lose yourself. During college you should focus on who YOU really are, because when the day comes to share yourself with another human being, you need to know who you are before you can show them too.

So, yes, you are in a good place if you are single.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
