Reasons Why My College Roommate Is The Best

"Awkward and sweaty, that sounds a lot like my life."

Reasons Why My College Roommate Is The Best

I have the best roommate in the entire world and I thought it was about time I wrote something about her.

1. She sings with me

Whether we're sitting on the couch or in the community showers, we always have a place to sing. We sing anything from Britney Spears to Eminem and we always end up laughing until we cry. Now, we don't necessarily have the best voices, but we don't care, we sing our hearts out.

2. She can always make me laugh

Speaking of Eminem, my roommate has a serious rapping game when it comes to The Real Slim Shady and it always has me on the floor laughing. Also, I just think she is a hilarious person overall.

3. She keeps it real

Oh, did I forget to mention that my roommate's name is Karyssa? Well it is, so yeah. Anyways, Karyssa always keeps it real with me. She never lets me do stupid things (alone) and she always will tell me if I'm being ridiculous.

4. She's an amazing artist.

I'm serious, this girl has some serious talent and makes the best art I have ever seen. Although her art makes me feel useless and talent less, she does sometimes include me in her artistic choices. Thanks Karyssa!

5. She doesn't judge my random dancing/singing outbreaks

Sometimes the days can get really long, and I deal with those long days by dancing/jamming/signing it out. We both have some really stellar dance moves, I invite you all to come check out our skills sometime.

6. We both have an appreciation for Leonardo DiCaprio

He's our main man.

7. We have amazing talks about life

We talk about everything. We talk about crazy family stories, embarrassing things that have happened to us, current events and much more. I always look forward to our Friday afternoon talks!

8. Basically, we're two peas in a pod

There's nobody else I would have wanted to room with last year and this year. You are the best roommate ever and I am going to miss you so much next year when I'm living in a house! Maybe we can live together again senior year. Thank you for being amazing and for putting up with me.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
