I mean sure, I may have hoped and wished for a little sister so I could dress her up in cute outfits and we could get our nails done together and talk about boys, but I wouldn't trade my younger brothers for anything in the world. Nothing beats that sibling bond.
1. They're always on your side, especially when you guys are teamed up against your parents.
Having little brothers to help you gang up against your parents is super helpful. The extra force when you're trying to convince your parents to take you out for dinner or take you out to Dairy Queen can help seal the deal.
2. You’re lucky enough to act as a role model.
While it may be draining always having people looking up to you, it’s such a great feeling knowing you're valued. Especially being a girl, helping shape the younger boys into becoming great men is a very underrated job. One of the most important things I think that an older sister can teach her brothers is how to be a good guy, and how to treat others respectfully.
3. You always have someone to hang out with.
We all have those days when you have no plans and are way too bored. Luckily you’ve got some friends just down the hall! Whether you’re home from school for the weekend or home for summer break, having some friends available all the time is quite convenient! A sibling bond is such a special one, and having a day every now and then to spend with the sibs is always needed.
4. They will always be a great support system.
Being able to have not one, but two #1 fans is a very meaningful thing. They will always be there to cheer you on at every cross-country race, dance recital, pom-pom competition and your high school graduation. They will always be there cheering you on and lifting you up at your weakest moments. It's very comforting to know that whatever you are going through, there are two people who think highly of you and would do anything to see you happy.
5. Some of your best moments are with your younger brothers.
Since you are related, you probably spend a lot of time together. Boys have such a different sense of humor and view of the world, so it's interesting to learn from them and experience their thoughts and ideas. Some of my favorite memories range from goofing off on long car rides or just hanging out in our basement watching TV or playing games.
6. The endless amount of love is all I could ask for.
My brothers are truly my best friends. Being away at college is hard sometimes, but I know that I can always count on them for a “cheer up” text or a goofy Snapchat. Any and all moments with them are something to cherish. Being lucky enough to watch my brothers grow up and really develop personalities is so much fun. I wouldn’t trade my younger brothers for anything in the world.
