Growing up with golden retrievers, I would be smothered with their affection and play with them until they are tired. Even if I see dogs that are not owned by me, I would treat them as if they are my own. That is how much I love dogs, and no matter what, I consider them best friends. Here are my reasons why. (Warning: cuteness overload!)

1. They are loyal

An obvious reason, but regardless of who you are, they will always stick by your side, unless they see a bone or something delicious to eat.

2. They want your attention all the time

Responsibility is an important part of taking care of your dogs, so of course, they will want your attention! Keeping them occupied with toys and playing with them will make them happy!

3. They are happy whenever you are near them

No joke, whenever I would call my yorkie’s name, he will always wag his tail and come up to sit on my lap. With my two golden retrievers, they crave for me to pet them, but I love it because I know they love me.

4. They are great for cuddling

My baby, Ruby Mae, is guilty of this, but I do not mind in the slightest. Whenever I would be on my bed, she would always come up and have her head nuzzling against my chest or just lie down next to me.

5. They comfort you when you are sad

If I have a bad day or feel gloomy, one of my dogs would make sure that I have someone near me for comfort, and they deliver! Maxey would always sit by me on the couch or love seat so that I can feel better.

Dogs are really incredible gifts for us to live with. I will always cherish these dogs of mine as well as the ones I used to have during my childhood! As I have written this, one of my dogs is laying down beside me, and it was great inspiration to do this list.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
