Growing up as the youngest child in the family, life came with many perks and contradictions that made life relatively easy but frustrating for you. Here's a list of struggles and blessings us youngest children had to live with:
1. You wanted to grow up faster than you could.
Watching your older siblings experience new things that you wanted to do always made you wish your time away.
2. You got away with murder compared to your brother or sister.
Your parents always threatened you with restriction. Unlike your brother or sister, you could come home past curfew or get away with talking back once or twice more than they could.
3. But when you did get in trouble you were legitimately shocked.
4. Whenever you wanted to watch a certain tv show or sit in the front seat of the car you couldn’t because your brother or sister is “older” and they had priority.
5. Or it could completely backfire on your siblings because you’re “younger” and got whatever you asked for.
6. Your love/hate for hand-me-downs.
7. Your hate for being compared is real.
There is nothing worse than being compared to an older sibling. You are NOT them and will NEVER be them.
