The changing of seasons can be quite difficult for some of us. I always have a hard time telling summer farewell for the year. Instead of being too bummed about the change of seasons this year, I came up with a list of reasons why the transition from summer to fall isn't too bad after all.

1. Sweater Weather

Let's be honest, fall clothes are the comfiest and fashionable. Who doesn't love oversized sweaters, boots, socks, and everything in between? Fall clothes are the best clothes.

2. Coffee Season

It is now officially acceptable to drink warm drinks whenever you want. Pumpkin Spice Lattes are here and for me, that's enough reason to celebrate.

3. Football is Back!

Who doesn't love tailgating season or cuddling up on the couch to watch the game?

4. Fresh Fall Air

There is really no better feeling than being able to open your windows up at home and enjoy the fresh air without sweating to death. The smell of crisp fall air is unbeatable.

5. Sweat No More!

Walking to class is much more enjoyable in the fall months. You don't have to worry about walking into class covered in sweat anymore.

6. Welcome the holiday season!

Halloween is really the best and most fun excuse to party in the fall months. Then we have Thanksgiving. Fall is the best time for great food and a few breaks from school when you need it most. No other season can beat that!

7. Turning of the leaves

Fall is beautiful, especially in the midwest. The leaves change to the beautiful fall colors which make for some beautiful photos and nature walks.

8. Bonfires

Who doesn't love a nice bonfire on an October night? Bonfires are one of the best parts of fall. S'mores and friends around a fire are one of the best parts of the season.

9. Christmas is approaching

It's not quite winter yet, but it's close and now is the time to start planning and shopping. Black Friday fans, this is your season.

10. Pumpkin Everything!

Pumpkin patches, pumpkin spice lattes, pumpkin scented candles, pumpkin carving and literally everything in between. Pumpkins are the face of fall and we all love it.

11. The World Series

Fall is the best time of year for Major League Baseball Fans. There's nothing more exciting than postseason baseball.

12. Date Night!

Fall gives us the best date night options! Pumpkin patches, carving pumpkins, scary movies, or just enjoy the perfect cuddle weather.

Don't be too sad about the pools closing and your tan fading, we have tons of fall fun to look forward to!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
