In case you haven't heard, there's a hot new show on USA called "Eyewitness". I saw gifs of this show on Tumblr and I needed to know what it was about. binge watched the first seven episodes last week (in one night)(I make bad choices, I know) and I was instantly hooked.
"Eyewitness", to directly quote usanetwork.com, "delves into the lives of Philip and Lukas, two innocent teenage boys who bear witness to a triple-homicide while in the midst of a romantic encounter. Desperate to keep their relationship a secret they must keep what they’ve seen hidden from everyone, including Philip’s new foster mother, Helen, (Julianne Nicholson) a former big-city homicide detective who left her harrowing career to become a small-town sheriff. With a murderer on the loose who is desperate to silence any link to the killings, Helen will stop at nothing to solve the case and bring peace back to Tivoli."
If that doesn't grab your attention, here's a list of why you should love it.
1. Boyfriends!
This show stars two teenagers in love and adorably depicts a modern gay relationship. They're my OTP at the moment. I love Philkas! And it's not everyday that a major network has a show with homosexual leads. They're also very (and I mean VERY) attractive. Bless USA Network.
2. Helen
Helen is one badass woman, as she is captain of Tivoli's police force. She is also dealing with some very serious mental health problems and trying to be a good role model and mother for Phillip. She is a very real female character with problems, intelligence, and self-doubt. I love her more than life.
3. DRAMA!!!!
This show has so much that happens and so many twists and mystery and suspense that I have to call my mom screaming after every new episode! It's certain to keep you hanging on for more every episode.4. Kamilah
This woman is an FBI agent who is doing her best to help her sister and solve the case. She bonds with Helen, after having a short feud, over not being able to "have it all" - referring to having a family and being a successful agent. She's so smart and beautiful and I love her. I love everyone on this show. Except Ryan. I hate Ryan.
5. Literally Everything About It
"Eyewitness" has so many fascinating and well-written characters, as well as a dramatic and mysterious plot line that it has me waiting for Sunday nights at 10. I am so addicted it's not even funny.
So, if you want to ruin your life (in the best way possible) and make sure that this show gets a second season (if it doesn't, I will cease to exist) please watch "Eyewitness" on USA Sunday nights at 10. Happy watching!
