Waking up in the morning can be tough but can really change your way of life. Following the few tips below can help you transform into an early riser.

1. Set out your outfit the night before.

Setting your outfit out the night before is one way to prepare for a great day. No one enjoys scrambling around in the morning trying to decide what to wear. Being confident in what you are wearing is a key to success. Even in your athleisure clothes, you can still look good and if you look good, you feel good. Plus if you start your day in workout clothes, you are more likely to make a trip to the gym.

2. Wake up earlier and have a morning routine.

Ben Franklin once said, "Early to bed and early to rise makes a man healthy, wealthy, and wise." There are many benefits of waking up early. Waking up early allows you to get a start on your goals for the day.

If you are trying to transform into a morning person some tips would be: not to make drastic changes in your sleep schedule, go to sleep earlier, and put your alarm clock further away from your bed.

It is important to have a morning routine because once you start waking up early, it will become a habit. A great day starts by drinking a cup of coffee and doing quick 5-minute stretch. Doing these easy tasks can improve your day by 100%.

3. Make your bed.

Making your bed might seem like a simple task but it can make a world of difference. Making your bed is very important so you don't jump right back under the covers when you get home. The college dorm rooms can be pretty small and your bed usually occupies most of the space, by making your bed it can give the illusion that your room is clean.

4. Work out.

Working out in the morning might actually motivate you to want to eat healthier the rest of the day. Working out in the morning also has more benefits because studies show that if you work out before you eat your first meal you have the potential to burn more fat.

Another advantage of working out in the A.M. is the natural glow your skin has after a good workout. Some may not even feel the need to apply makeup. I think I can speak for everyone when I say that we all want a faster metabolism. You burn more calories when you work out in the morning than you would in the evening. The list of pros goes on and on but working out in the morning is a wonderful start to your day.

5. Eat a healthy breakfast.

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day and is essential to a good morning. Eating a healthy breakfast can lead to eating less throughout the day, the ability to focus on your work instead of thinking about food, and having more energy. Not to mention, skipping breakfast is linked to being overweight.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
