10 Reasons To Love Rainy Days

With the end of spring and the beginning of summer, rain is pretty much a guarantee so you have to learn to love it.

With the rainy days that have both come and are on the way, we all are going to have to find some way to spend these rainy days. While we are trying to get through these rainy days, there is no reason that we cannot come to love them by doing some of our favorite things or just some fun ideas.

I have come up with ten reasons to love the rain and will hopefully help with future days where the sky is grey and you want to avoid everything.

They are the perfect excuse to stay inside.

When it's raining, especially if it's pouring or you're in the middle of a thunderstorm, you don't want to leave your house, dorm, apartment or wherever you live. The rain makes it so you have an excuse to stay inside all day, without making something up as an excuse not to go out.

You get the perfect nap atmosphere.

Honestly, who doesn't love the sound of rain? When it's raining and you're feeling a little tired, just open your curtains, go lay on your bed, and watch the rain as you fall asleep.

The sound of the rain falling paired with watching the rain and the raindrops on your window gives you the perfect way to fall asleep. Depending on how hard it's raining and what is near your window, opening the window could be a good idea too.

On the other hand, dancing in the rain is fun too.

Staying inside and watching the rain fall is fun, but so is putting on your rain boots and going outside. Unleash your inner child and dance in the rain and jump into puddles because you can. You don't have to do this alone either, maybe see if you can get some of your friends to join.

Of course, they could always so no because it is raining and that's okay too. Just make sure that when you are done playing in the rain you take a warm shower and change out of your wet clothes so you don't get sick.

Rainy day + a good book or movie + your favorite drink = a lazy and cozy day

Picture this, you are in you're favorite spot with a good book or maybe watching your favorite show or movie. There's rain hitting the window and you can hear it outside and you have your favorite, hot or cold, drink with you... Do I really need to go on here?

You get to spend the day with your pet.

This one is for all the pet owners. Rainy days give you the opportunity to spend the day with your pet. You can both curl up and take a nap, watch a movie, read a book, get homework done, or anything else.

Your pet can follow you around the house while you get things done, there are endless and cute possibilities.

You can get things done.

All of the things that you haven't had the time to do can suddenly get done. Going off of previous reasons and things to do, if you are going to stay inside all day, you have the time to get things that have fallen to the bottom of your to-do list done. Rainy days are also the perfect opportunity to have a GYST day (click here to see what a GYST day is).

You can cook or bake something comforting.

Dancing around the kitchen while the rainfalls and chocolate chip cookies are being made is something that anyone can do. You just need to have the ingredients or the groceries and an oven to do it all in.

You can also race the oven timer to see if you can get everything cleaned and put away before it goes off and you have to take whatever it is you decide to cook or bake out of the oven or off the stove.

Break out the comfy blankets, your favorite hoodie or sweater, a pair of leggings, and fuzzy socks.

Trust me, this outfit will go perfectly with binging Netflix or reading while the rain falls.

You can pretend that you are in a music video or a sad scene from a movie.

We've all wanted to do it, and if we haven't done this yet we've thought about it. So, all you have to do is turn up your favorite sad song and stare wistfully out of a window.

You can relive your childhood and build a blanket fort.

With all of the Netflix-ing or reading you may do, why not get everything out and make a blanket fort? You can spend the day relaxing in your blanket fort and not have to be an adult for the day, or at least while you are tucked away in the blanket fort child you dreamed about.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
