As the air gets cooler and September winds to a close, Fall begins! There are so many reasons to be excited for Fall, as it is personally my favorite season. Here is a short list of reasons why I, like many others, am ready for this season!
1. Fall Foliage
What makes going to college in New England unique is the beautiful fall foliage around campus. There are many different hues of yellows, reds, and oranges that bring the campus to life even on a cold and grey day full of exams and papers. I love the trees along the Long Walk as I trek across campus for early morning classes. (And yes, Trinity is ranked #10 for the Most Beautiful Colleges in the Fall)
2. Sweaters
Although we are no longer able to go soak up the sun at the beach, what makes Fall wonderful is being able to raid my closet and pull out a nice large and cozy sweater for the coolest of days. With so many different colors and styles, there is something for everyone's sense of style that can keep everyone warm and happy!
3. Pumpkins, Pumpkins, Pumpkins!
Whether you like to carve pumpkins or eat different seasonal treats, pumpkins are only able to be truly enjoyed in this short window of the year. From roasted pumpkin seeds, pumpkin muffins and of course the Starbucks pumpkin spice latte, there are many different treats to enjoy.
4. Football
With autumn comes the truly American past-time: football. Breathing in the cool, crisp air while hearing the whistles and gasps of the crowd, theres truly nothing better than spending a day watching the "boys of fall" toss around the old pigskin.
5. Thanksgiving
One of my favorite holidays of the year, Thanksgiving is a time when families both near and far comes together to celebrate. Between watching the classic Thanksgiving football game to running in the annual Turkey Trot, drinking some hot chocolate and sitting around a fire before waiting to feast on turkey, mashed potatoes, and gravy is the ultimate way to say goodbye to fall and prepare for the cold winter months.
6. Apple Picking & Apple Cider
Going to an orchard and picking apples is a fun activity for anyone of any age. After picking apples, you can make a wide array of desserts, including my personal favorite, apple pie. Snuggling up after a cool day with a big mug of apple cider and cinnamon is a nice way to unwind and relax after a long day.
