Coming from a small town, I had friends that I met in the fifth grade and are still friends today. Leaving for college, made those friendships change as we all live more than two hours apart and don't talk everyday due to our ever going busy schedules. God blessed me when I got a big when I rushed in the spring of my freshman year. This "big, little" relationship set the baseline for the best friendship I have experienced in my life. Here are the reasons that I am forever thankful for you.
1. Thank you for being my study buddy
From the countless nights that we stayed up studying, ending with still not knowing a thing about what was going on, I wouldn't want to go through that experience with anyone else. I can sit in class and hear a word that we made silly stories about just to remember it and I just laugh. One thing that I will never forget are the hours and hours we spent in the microbiology lab while everyone else was gone two hours prior... When you graduated I actually thought about giving people an application to be my next lab partner.
2. Thank you for listening to my never ending complaining
Being two people that are overly dramatic, I'm glad that we can balance each other out. I love being able to vent to you about everything and have you there to simply listen, laugh, or guide me in what I should do next. Even though we have found out countless times that our minds working together usually end up getting us in trouble, I couldn't do it without you. Thanks for helping me write replies back to petty text messages, sending me tweets that describe our lives, and being the shoulder I can cry on even though you are more than 400 miles away.
3. Thank you for being the one that encourages me
Through the past few months, all I can think of is how hard life has been for me. It has made our relationship ten times stronger than before because you have been by my side through it all. You have told me that it would be okay more times than I can count and have encouraged me to keep pushing. To you it may seem like your duty as a best friend but I can honestly say I hold those words very close to my heart.
4. Thank you for being brutally honest
If you know me, you know I am an honest person. I tell it like it is and I expect the same from others. You have been the one person that is consistent in this aspect of my life. I know that I can trust your word to be completely straight from your heart. Even though your words can be rather sassy, in the end I still love to hear what you have to say. You're my person because we can have straight to the point conversations and leave nothing uncertain about what we are feeling.
5. Thanks for being my true sister
We have been on family vacations together, we have shared clothes, and my Mamaw adores you. You have been there for me through thick and thin, I can be funny with you or serious with you, and you constantly remind me how thankful I am for our relationship. We have countless memories that will never be replaced and we can pick up in a conversation like we never left off. You've become so much more than a best friend, you're my sister.
