You Should Choose Agriculture
Kelsey Slager

What do you see yourself doing in the future? Do you see yourself being an artist, business owner, or policymaker?

Have you ever wanted to become a farmer? I bet your answer is no way. I bet it does not inspire you at all. When looking at all the choices of careers out there in the world, a lot of people shy away from agriculture.

Agriculture has a diverse career selection.

Your role doesn’t have to be on a farm; for a lot of people being a part of agriculture is not working or living on a farm. There is something for everyone! This industry needs marketing and advertising professionals to not only sell the agricultural products but to help consumers figure out what is the perfect fit for them. The industry also needs professionals to study the soil, the changing weather conditions, and do genetic research on plants that help us get more per plant and that fight parasites better. The industry also needs sales professionals to sell products to consumers and to manufacturers.

Agricultural has so many jobs to offer.

Consumer demands have seen an exceptional growth in the past couple years so there are a bunch more job opportunities out there now. It is very natural that the agriculture industry hires graduates to get the new knowledge out to the world. Hiring new graduates is a trend and there will probably not be an end to it. Right now there is currently a shortage of workers and that means we are short of scientists, agriculture accountants, and geneticists. Fresh graduates will be able to find a job right away and also be making a very impressive wage for just graduating.

Agriculture is very sustainable to the core.

One of the main focus in this industry is on the environmental sustainability. Many professionals are out there making sure our food production demands are met well into our future. The industry is looking to utilize methods that are environmental friendly by replacing other sources of energy.

Agricultural is all about technology.

With the growing population, our food demand is for higher quality and quantity which means it is now centered on the technological innovation. Scientist are interested in developing crops that are pesticide free, resistant to drugs, and that are able to withstand difficult weather conditions.

Working in an agricultural field is very rewarding. You get a piece of mind knowing that you are making a positive impact on those around you. It is undeniable that agriculture is one of the smartest career paths to choose. Whether you are looking for a company that you fit in with, a competitive salary, or you want to make a difference, the agricultural sector has such a wide variety of jobs to choose from that it is easy to find what suits you best. It’s a growing field that needs new and talented employees to be ready to fill positions and be the next generation of agriculture.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
