Whether it be to improve our endurance or lose weight, cardio is generally the first thing people turn to. It's simple (sometimes) and there are so many different ways it can be done. Cardio, especially in the form of running can make you feel great, refreshed and healthy. Even though there are so many reasons to love it, these reasons can also become why we hate it.
1. You get that runner's high.
Now we're not really sure if a runner's high is a real thing. It's probably just a ploy to get into running that actually makes you feel like death
2. Don't have to go to the gym to get a run in.
You don't have to pay to run outside. At least not with money, your body might be telling you a whole different thing. Also, why is that guy and his two dogs staring at me? Is crawling down the street not an everyday thing? Oops, my bad.
3. Riding a bike is great cardio that doesn't require you to run.
Riding a bike is so much easier than running. But only if you're going downhill and aren't afraid to die.
4. That feeling you get when you push yourself to run harder.
I feel great after I push myself to run harder. I definitely don't feel like death is coming and that I should give up all hope. Definitely don't have those thoughts.
5. That glamorous post run glow.
Nothing better than that evanescent glow of sweat you get during and after your run. Because we all look like we stepped out of a Nike ad after we run. Be sure to hide your buckets of sweat for the photo-op.
6. You can reward yourself after cardio.
Running gives you a perfect excuse to eat more food. You figure you probably would never run on a normal day so might as well eat back all those calories you totally earned. Lead me to the snacks!

7. Running is the worst way to pass the time.
Seriously convinced that every clock stops when I start running. I swear I was running for half an hour but this clock says 30 seconds. Something definitely isn't right here.
8. Your body feels absolutely great post-run.
My legs after a run make me feel like I was just born and am re-learning how to use them. Jello is firm compared to how your legs will feel after you run for a while.
9. Everyone's competitive side kicks in.
Just know that it is definitely a race when a person gets on the treadmill right next to me. May the fastest runner win or fly off. Whichever happens first.
10. Your music makes you feel like a boss.
I have definitely experienced awkward stares just to realize I'm either singing or dancing (or both) while running. Whatever, I'm doing me so judge me all you want. Get on my level.
11. Sticking with it is a struggle.
Whether we hate it or not, running is really good for us but very hard to make a habit. Maybe one day the people that like to run won't be as rare as unicorns. Until that happens, I'm running to go get some ice cream.
