Leslie Knope is the star of the show "Parks and Recreation." If you have never heard of her, I seriously suggest you change that because she is the greatest character on television. She's motivated, hilarious, and passionate with just a little crazy. In addition to all this perfection, she even managed to teach us some life lessons. What more could you possibly want?
1. She always makes us feel good about ourselves.
Even if Leslie was really talking to Ann, we always felt like she was talking to us. Whether she was calling us a "beautiful sunflower" or a "poetic, noble land mermaid," it always made us feel warm and fuzzy.
2. She said what we're all thinking.
Honestly, I love winning. I mean, whose dream is to lose? Come on, we were all thinking it. It just took someone like Leslie to say it for us.
3. She showed us that sometimes it's OK to not be OK.
Even if she really does have it all, Leslie showed us (on numerous occasions) that sometimes you just have to not be OK and learn to cope. She showed us that sometimes you just really need some waffles, desserts, or a vent session with your Ann Perkins.
4. But she also showed us how to keep going even if things don't go our way.
Leslie would always come back from her lowest lows to prove to us that you can prevail even if it seems like you've hit rock bottom. Her incredible amount of passion and willpower made us all feel like we can conquer the world.
5. She made us all feel better about our love for breakfast food.
Finally, it's not only just OK, but 100 percent acceptable for us to come clean about our love for breakfast food. All because Leslie wasn't afraid to fully embrace her love for waffles.
6. She is a huge supporter of the cardinal rule of being a woman.
Not only does she know that cardinal rule, but she reinvented it to sound so Leslie. Remember ladies, "uteruses before duderuses."
7. She proved that just because someone doubts you, it doesn't mean you're wrong.
Hey, some people along the way are going to tell you that you're wrong, or that you come on way too strong. But just think, "What would Leslie do?" She certainly would not surrender and tone it down. If anything she would multiply her attitude by 20, and push even harder.
8. She taught us some sweet dance moves.
Even though no one can pull it off as well as her, we all have definitely broken out some Leslie moves (and looked amazing while doing it).
9. She is always there to motivate us.
If you wake up every morning and think, "Today I'm going to be like Leslie Knope" you will no doubt have a great day. Just follow her motto, "Do it. Fierce. Power." and you'll kill it.
10. Finally, she is an excellent example of persevering until you reach your goal.
Leslie has proven to us that if you're passionate and work hard you can accomplish anything. If someone says you can't, tell them to think again, or in Leslie's case just recount the votes.
