Most people have a special relationship with their mom, but my mom is my best friend. She is there whenever I need her. She knows all of my secrets and I know all of hers. I never tell her thank you enough for being the absolute best, but here are just a few reasons why I’m glad my mom knows all of my business.
1. I never have to worry about us having a falling out
She’s my mom. She’s always going to be there. “Friends are temporary; family is forever” has never rang so true.
2. She lets me learn from her experiences
My mom has lived longer than I have. Having friends your own age means going through the same stuff at the same time. My mom has been there, done that and tells me about it so I don’t make the same mistakes.
3. She legitimately cares about my problems
Sometimes your friends will listen to you, but not actually care about what is going in your life. My mom always wants to know what’s going on in my life and how she can help.
4. She’ll love me no matter how crumby a friend I’m being
It’s not cool to be a bad friend, but even when you are, and everyone is from time to time, my mom will always love me. (I apologize for being a crumby friend by the way.)
5. We never fight over boys
Our friendship will never end because we’re chasing after the same guy. (Talk about some serious daddy issues if I was.) We may or may not like the other’s significant other, but I never have to worry about her stealing my boyfriends.
6. She always pays
There’s never an argument about who will pay for what because momma always picks up the tab.
7. She never intrudes on my life (she already knows it all)
I don’t have one of those moms who goes through my phone, grills my friends or boyfriends to find out what’s going on in my life. She already knows everything there is to know.
8. I trust her with everything…always
There are no secrets between my mom and I. Even when I do something I know I shouldn’t have, I can come clean and tell her about it. She trusts me to tell her the truth and make good decisions.
9. There was never an awkward stage
When most friendships start, there’s always and awkward stage where you are afraid to be yourself out of fear of scaring that person away. Not with my mom. She changed my diapers and has heard me burp. She knows I’m human, and I don’t worry I’m going to scare her away.
10. She’s always honest, but always kind
She’s not afraid to tell me that I look fat in those jeans, but she knows that fat booty comes from her. Instead of being rude, she teaches me to work with what I’ve got and that I’m always beautiful. (How could I not be with a hot momma like her.)
11. I’ll always have a forever friend
I know my mom is never going anywhere. She loves me regardless of everything. She will never leave my side. I’ll have her for the rest of my life.
I am forever grateful to have such an amazing, wonderful, beautiful and strong mother. I love you more than I can ever put into words. Thank you for loving me even when I didn’t love myself and for bringing me into this world. All I could ever want is to make you proud. I love you, Mom.
