5 Ways College Is Just Better Than High School
Ally Mishell Smith

High school is great and all, but college is the best. Here are some reasons why college is the best thing since sliced bread.

1. You can leave class early if your teacher doesn't feel like teaching.

In college, there is no "fluff" when it comes to lectures. Your teachers make their point and you leave when the finish, whether you have 15 minutes or 45 minutes of class left.

2. Your choice of where you want to eat lunch.

If you want to eat in the cafeteria, go off campus, or go home, you can because you have no one telling you what you can and can't do.

3. No dress code

The dress code was one of the worst things about high school. However, in college, if you want to wear shorts and a t-shirt, or your pajamas, you can and no one will send you home.

4. You pick your schedule

One of the best things about college is that you are in control of your schedule. You take that classes you want to take when you want to take them. You don't want any classes before 8 a.m, you don't have to take any classes before 8 a.m.

5. New friends

After being with the same people for the past 13 years, it's very refreshing to meet people who aren't from the same place you are.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
