Have you asked your girlfriend what she wants for the holidays yet? She probably said “I don’t know,” or “I just want you!” This must leave you puzzling and scrambling for a gift. How dare we not say what we really want.

During this time of year, you see commercials about “the perfect gift” and companies that tell you she will love *insert expensive merchandise you cannot afford here*. Sometimes the perfect gift is not tangible or sold at stores.

The perfect gift could be an accumulation of gestures and thoughtfulness that she wants, not just during the Holidays, but throughout the year.

1. The Best Snugglin' Of Her Life

Who doesn’t love a good cuddle session, especially in the colder months. Add a good movie (maybe a holiday one), some hot chocolate, and of course snacks, and you got yourself the perfect date.

2. All Of Her Favorite Food

A way to a girl’s heart is food. If not, then you do not need people like that in your life.

3. The Basics: Play With Her Hair

The feeling of having your hair played with is something that cannot be explained. But just know that once you start, you will never, EVER be allowed to stop. You might be hearing “play with my hair” for a long time, followed by a groan or motion to continue the heavenly act.

4. Give The Gift Of Being Open Minded

I am sure all girls want their significant others to do something they do not necessarily want to do. Give in and give it a try for once! You never know, you may enjoy whatever it is.

5. Take Advantage Of Technology And Send That Sappy Text

Whether you two talk all day or not as much, it is always nice to get a text from someone to know that they are thinking of you. Something very simple can make all the difference in a person’s day.

6. Go Old School And Surprise Her With Secret Notes

You can write a heartfelt letter or simple post-it notes. Either way, they are both really sweet to receive. Give it directly to her or hide it in her gym bag, notebook, or car.

7. Let Her Steal Your Clothes

Girls are stereotypically obsessed with clothes, but the clothes of our significant other is a whole other story. There is nothing better than a huge, over-sized t-shirt or sweatshirt that smells like your significant other to make you feel happy. Try not to complain next time she steals it, or better yet, leave it at her house or in her car as a nice surprise.

8. Turn Her Bathroom Into Her Own Personal Spa

If you know she had a bad day, or maybe if you just want to do something nice, you can prepare a nice bubble bath for when she gets home. Add a nice cup of tea or her favorite bottle of wine to help her relax and de-stress.

Find a cozy pair of pajamas, spray your cologne or perfume on it for when she gets out. All the perfect ingredients for a stress-free environment, with the main ingredient being you.

9. Start New Traditions Together

Starting a tradition around the holidays is always something that can bring you both together and also gives you something to look forward to. Go away for the New Year to a different city, go ice skating, or simply build a gingerbread house together! Making memories is a major key.

10. She Is Not Lying When She Says "I Just Want You!"

At the end of the day, no matter how many gifts she receives or how much money was spent, it does not compare to the time spent with you. All she really wants is to be able to spend time with you, doing whatever, wherever.

The best gift you could give someone is spending time with them and showing how much they are loved and appreciated. Whether you are on a budget or just want to change things up this year, there is always something you can give her. And I am sure she will love it either way.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
