On Realizing I'm Graduating In A Year

Yes, seniors, I know you are graduating in like two months.

On Realizing I'm Graduating In A Year

Now, I realize seniors will read the title and laugh because they are graduating way sooner than I am. And I am happy about that.

The thought of graduating college in a year is kind of terrifying to me. The real world is approaching and all I can think is "oh my gosh." No more school? What is life even like without school? I'm sure it's amazing but someone who has spent most of her life going to school, it's a really weird thought and something hard to get used to. No more time consuming assignments or midterms to study for...sounds great to me!

But what I will miss is knowing I will always see my friends everyday in class and around campus. We are all so busy with out school lives that it's a hit or miss for hanging outside of class. But, hopefully that means when we are out of college, we will have more time to actually spend time with each other.

Also, people keep asking me what I want to do after I graduate and the answer is I have no clue. I mean, I have two majors for a reason - I can't decide. I hope I am lucky enough to get a great job right out of college and start saving for the ~real world~. But we will see, the future is blurry for me right now so please stop asking because it honestly just makes me over think everything.

Coming into my second semester as a junior, I have realized I am a lot happier because I know I am graduating on time with two majors. That's a freaking feat if you ask me. But, at least I know I am passionate about both of my majors and will be happy with whatever field I end up in.

That is the one answer I do have.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

The Importance Of Being A Good Person

An open letter to the good-hearted people.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
