Get lost in the pages.

Reading expands your knowledge so much. There are books written on every topic or subject imaginable; you are not the only one interested in a given area. Although we are in a generation that is so consumed in our phone screens, holding a hardcover or paper is way more beneficial. Holding a new book in your hands is such a good feeling, especially when you truly enjoy the words on the pages. You get lost in the lines and keep turning the pages. When you have an actual copy of the book, your phone becomes a distant object. If you read on your phone, you are able to switch to Snapchat or Twitter when you receive a notification.

Some people purchase books electronically due to prices being cheaper in certain cases. If you live near a Barnes & Noble bookstore, you may sit in there for hours and read a stack of books. I have done it multiple times before and it is so therapeutic. You get to learn things or simply enjoy a novel while not having to bring it home. I am not insinuating that you should not support authors' hustles, but if you need that option, it is there.

I love the entertainment industry and continuously think about my future career. Going to a bookstore and purchasing books relating to my passion allows me a sneak peek into what to expect. You will not learn everything that is coming your way through a book, but it does give you an idea. CEO and creative director of the fashion retailer Nasty Gal personally wrote the book #GIRLBOSS. If you are a guy or gal with a passion for fashion and a wondering mind on how you can run your own company, this book is available to feed your brain!

If you want new cooking recipes to try at home, don't watch a cooking segment on Facebook for a recipe that has no flavor. Go out and buy a real chef's cookbook! Re-reading the recipes will greatly improve your memory. Reading will enhance the following: your focus, concentration, thinking and writing skills, as well as your vocabulary.

Go to your nearest bookstore, curl up in bed, or chill at your local cafe and read whatever you want! You might notice that many people around you are doing the same thing. Reading is universal and something that should be appreciated and put into practice more often.

READ, READ, READ. It is important to read a book that you thoroughly enjoy because you will not think about anything else while the book is in front of you. It takes over and your brain is being fed amazing things.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
