As you may have heard, several Christians nationwide are in an uproar about the new seasonal design for Starbucks cups. These cups, usually adorned with Christmas-themed designs, now feature nothing but a solid red background.
These angry patrons are distraught over the lack of Christmas spirit of Starbucks' seasonal design. Now, I have not come in direct contact with any of these people, but I firmly believe that Starbucks made the right move in making their cups neutral. Our society is so heavily influenced by Christianity and traditions, that it's refreshing to celebrate the general merriment of the holiday season. We should embrace all cultures and religions because they all are equally important!
If I were to come across one of these Starbucks trolls, this is what I would tell them:
1. Take a chill pill. Or, if that term isn't Christmas-y enough for you, take a Christmas pill.
2. Have you ever seen a Starbucks drink with a dreidel on it? No.
3. It must be the coffee that is making you so hyper about this.
4. If you refuse to get a coffee in a red cup I guess that's your loss. More Peppermint Mochas for me.
5. I hope you won't be visiting any Jewish delis this holiday season.
6. You know who else doesn't have Christmas-themed cups? Caribou. Or literally anywhere else you buy coffee.
7. Did You Know! - There are other holidays than Christmas! #FunFacts2015
8. Looks like you'll have to stick to iced drinks. Have a fun winter!
9. Want to come over and help decorate my Ramadan tree?
10. I understand - it must be hard feeling so oppressed.
11. Just walk into any shopping mall and I'm sure your Christmas spirit will be restored.
12. I think drinking this coffee in this red cup just made me Jewish!
13. You know what other cups are solid red? Red Solo Cups. That's right - every college frat party has been a #WarOnChristmas.
