When do you think rape is OK? Now that’s a huge question, but I really want you to take a second and think about it. When is rape really okay? Think about it? Good, and hopefully you got the same answer I did - never. This topic is extremely important to talk about nowadays, and it’s really sad that we have to do so. When reading this article think to yourself again, when is rape okay?

Every one in four have a 26 percent chance of getting raped in their lives. That one person could be your wife, sister, mother, daughter, or another female you have a close connection with. That is someone who is having their body, their voice, and their freedom taken from them by someone who thinks rape is okay. How does that make you feel? You could personally know someone who has been fully taken advantage of! That’s completely and utterly disgusting.

Now many people believe that men can be raped as well.Every 1-10 males will be raped. Again, that could be your son, husband, father, brother, anyone you may know personally could be taken advantage of. Again when do you think rape is OK? Hopefully, you can still agree that rape is never OK.

Her shorts were too short, she didn’t say no, she was asking for it by the way she was acting? Clothes someone wears does not ask you to rape them. Someone's actions does not request them to be taken advantage of. Lastly, just because she didn’t say no doesn't mean she said yes either. No means no, and silence means no.

4 percent of people people who get raped are raped by a stranger. A whole 46 percent of someone who gets raped, get raped by a loved one. Someone you trust, you love, and plan to be with. They take advantage of your body, your free will and again, do you really think rape is okay?

13 percent of rape victims will attempt suicide. Someone is attempting to take their personal life, their one chance of being something special because someone decided they could take advantage of someone. You could come home to see your daughter, mother, son, father, brother etc. dead because one person thought rape was okay. Do you think rape is okay?

Rape will never be okay, no matter the circumstance, rape will never be okay. If someone says no then they mean no. If they say nothing that still means no. If they wear revealing clothing that still means no. If you are a victim of rape, someone is there who will listen, who will help you. You are not alone.

If you are nervous about speaking to someone who you know about your story, there is a hotline for sexual assault victims- 1-800-656-HOPE. Please don’t be scared to talk to someone, we are there for you. You are supported.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
