Ever since 1897 when Bram Stoker's "Dracula" hit the shelves, humans have been fascinated by enigmatic creatures of the night. We love our vampires and we need them everywhere! We need them in our movies, TV shows, books, and videogames. What makes vampires so great is that they are not all alike—they have been re-imagined hundreds of times! Sometimes these remakes are fantastic and other times they shame the very name of their kind. Here is my official ranking of vampires:
THE SEXIEST
What better way to start off a list than with some eye-candy?
Eric Northman
I mean look at him! Granted he does have his shortcomings, but what vampire doesn't? Eric Northman is a little over a thousand years old and is a Viking prince. In "True Blood" he is an arrogant and cunning businessman, who uses his good looks to sway women. Viewers didn't always get to see a virtuous side of Eric, but that is a part of the whole love-hate relationship viewers had with him. If you're not sold on this Norwegian hunk, I dare you to Google "Eric Northman shirtless." Thank me later because you won't be sorry.
Spike
Spike does it all in "Buffy The Vampire Slayer"—he is a villain, anti-hero, and lover. When he was human, Spike, known then as William, was a failed poet. He was offered immortality and took it with revenge in mind. It is after knowing Buffy for a little while that he falls for her and starts to regain bits of his humanity, showing viewers his good side. But if you ask me, every side is his good side. From his chiseled cheekbones and jawline to his ahhh-mazing British accent, he is worthy of being labeled as sexy.
THE DANGEROUS
The Countess
With only two episodes into "American Horror Story Hotel," you can tell that The Countess is not to be messed with. She enjoys slashing necks, bloody orgies, and listening to terrified screams just as much as fashion. Don't let her sultry exterior fool you, she won't think twice about making you into a meal.
THE LAMESTEdward Cullen
He sparkles...need I say more?
THE CLASSIC
Dracula
No matter which remake it is, or which actor is playing him, Dracula is the one who started it all, so he undoubtedly deserves this spot.
THE SCARIEST
Nosferatu
He has big eyes, pointy ears, and weird buck teeth fangs. Out of all of these vampires on my list, I would not want to meet Nosferatu in a dark alley...he's just creepy! I don't want him sucking my blood, OK?
THE GENTLEMAN
Angel
All throughout "Buffy The Vampire Slayer" and his own spinoff show, Angel has struggled to maintain bits of his humanity. Even though he loses his way, he regains his human friends trust and shows them what a great guy he is. Angel, unlike other vampires, would go out of his way to protect and be there for his human friends, showing his loyalty to them time and time again.
THE REDEEMED
Damon Salvatore
Damon is selfish, but throughout "The Vampire Diaries," he redeems himself by showing his love for Elena, and trying to protect those he cares about.
THE BADASS
Selene
Selene was born in 1383 to Hungarian parents. At the age of 19, she was sired by Viktor, a vampire general, after, unbeknownst to her, Viktor, killed her entire family. For 600 years, Selene was a Death Dealer, a Vampire who kills Lycans, which are a breed of werewolf. For years, she battles and kills Lycans, believing they killed her family. After finding out the truth behind her family's murder, this gun-slinging badass abandons her race and sets out on a mission to protect herself and her lover.
THE CRAZYDrusilla
Drusilla was sired by Angel, and then she is the one who sired Spike. During her human existence, Drusilla was gifted with psychic powers. After Angel found out she had these powers, he tortured her to insanity and killed her family before her very eyes, and then he turned her. Since then, Drusilla has never been the same.
