Being raised well does not mean that one grew up a saint or were a perfect child who followed every rule. It doesn't mean that you're polished all the time and don't have any "absurd" tattoos or piercings. You could have been a trouble maker who tested your parents' patient on the daily, or you could have been an angel. However, one's actions, life decisions and appearance do not determine if they are a good or bad person.
Their decision to drink, party or smoke do not define them as a bad person, just like reading a book, staying in or picking up some hobby classify them as a good person. It has absolutely nothing with what one likes to do with their life, but rather how they treat others.
Being raised well is having their own beliefs and views, but also respecting that others have their own beliefs and views that will differ from theirs. Its not judging others based on their looks or interests, but rather treating each person the equally. Someone who was raised properly treats a janitor the same way they treat a doctor, because both jobs are valuable.
If someone wants to go out every weekend that's their choice, it doesn't make them a bad or a good person. If someone wants to volunteer at five different organizations that's also their choice and it doesn't make them a good person. Just because someone changes their looks that don't fit the social norm does not mean they deserve less respect and it certainly does not make them any more less of a human being. Just like someone who fits in the social norm is not a perfect angel.
We need to stop judging and labeling others based on one thing we see about them.
Whether it's their appearance or their interests. Our society has created this stigma about tattoos and that those who have them are bad people or are not capable of holding professional jobs. Or the guy with the man bun or the girl with purple hair is a freak. The guy with tattoos all over his body? Could in the military and trying to raise his children. The woman with a freshly ironed dress? Could be a stick in the mud who relies on her parents for money. You never know, so never judge.
What someone decides to do in their free time or with their appearance does not define them as a good or bad person, so let's stop it from doing that.
