Just Admit It, Ragdoll Cats Are The Perfect Balance Between Cat And Dog

Never a dull moment with cats that act like dogs.

I have never had a dog. Yes, you heard that correctly. I'm probably like one in a million Americans. But that's OK because I have ragdoll cats which, if you haven't heard, are practically dogs.

"How can that be possible?" one may ask. "Cats and dogs are completely different animals, there is no in-between!" Well, actually, there is. Ragdoll cats are large, fluffy cats that, yes, still act like cats, but they possess a lot of traits and form a lot of habits that are very unusual for cats. However, these traits and habits are seen very commonly in dogs.

Ragdolls are known to be a mystery amongst breeds, but whether they are acting like kittens or puppies, they never fail to put a smile on your face, and the proof is in the pictures!

1. They love belly rubs!

Most cats actually don't like belly rubs — they run or nip and try desperately to get away from that annoying human tickling their tummy! But... think of all the dogs you've seen begging for another belly rub!

2. They follow you around everywhere!

Literally everywhere. You know how dogs follow you from room-to-room? Well, so do Ragdolls! Except they find a place to cuddle up in each room they go. Like when they follow you from the bedroom to the bathroom. And you need to brush your teeth. There they are, right in the sink. Silly little fluff balls.

3. They wait at the front door for you to get home.

When you leave your house, you can peak through the window and see your dog placing himself at the front door so he can wait for his favorite human to return home. Same with these kitties. Nearly every day when I came home from school, they were there to greet me at the front door! Only difference was they didn't jump all over me to say hello.

4. They love water!

On any given summer day, you can spot a doggo taking a splash in the pool. Cats, though? Heck to the no! Unless it's a Ragdoll cat. No, I haven't let them go for a swim yet. But they would definitely rather take a drink out of the sink and get bathed in the faucet waterfall than take a nice, dry sip from the bowl.

5. Loyalty.

No, this isn't a trait only dogs have. Nor is it a trait only Ragdolls have. Even the most independent of cats are loyal to their owners, trust me on that. But Ragdolls definitely show their loyalty in the most dog-like of ways! Feeling sick? They'll give you cuddles. Feeling sad? More cuddles! They can surely sense when you have the blues, and they do every adorable thing they can to make them go away!

Dogs are awesome! But... so are cats! All cats. Not even just the ones that act like dogs (even though I'm a biased cat-mom and say they are the best)! However, with Ragdolls, you can bet you'll never have a dull moment. Oh, and they can also be man's best friend!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
