Can we take a moment of silence and reminisce on the good times where Shemar Moore graced our television screens for the past 11 years on "Criminal Minds" as Agent Derek Morgan. I know, on March 23, hearts across the globe shattered to a million pieces when Agent Morgan said his final goodbyes on the episode, "A beautiful disaster," and let me tell you, that episode was beautifully written and it will destroy you emotionally. Be sure to have a box of tissues in hand as you watch it.
But, I have something to say.
First of all, how dare you, Shemar Moore? How dare you worm your way into my heart to just break it 11 seasons later?
However, I still love you and I'm going to share 5 reasons why I adore FBI Special Agent Derek Morgan.
1. First and foremost, he can't leave because of his face.
I know I'm not the only one who gets heart palpitations, because of this devilishly handsome man but let's not forget his Adonis-like physique. *Fans self*
Oh, just one more.
Where else am I going to get the chance to see a hottie like him for an hour every week? I guess Reid will have to do for now, but it just won't be the same.
2. Not only is he good-looking, but also extremely loyal and dependable.
His team is not only his colleagues but his family. Whenever his family is in trouble whether it be from an external or internal source, he'll have your back no matter what. Plus, who wouldn't want to wake up in the hospital to that face?
3. He reminds you that it's okay to see the bright side of things and the good inside people even when they let you down. It doesn't make you weak, pathetic, or desperate, it makes you special.
How am I suppose to continue through life when he's not on my television screen reminding me that?
4. He taught us that our past doesn't define us and that no matter how sh*tty it was, we will come out of it stronger than before.
It was a complete shock when it was revealed that our beloved Agent Morgan had been repeatedly sexually abused by a man who he idealized after his biological father had been shot in the line of duty. I guarantee when you watch season 2 episode 12, "Profiler, Profiled," you'll come to applause Morgan for his revelation and you will be proud.
5. Unfortunately, Derek Morgan taught us the final and most important lesson. Your family always comes first.
Yes, watching the elevators close was the final nail in the coffin to our fragile hearts, but we have to come to terms that he had left to take care of his family. We've got to appreciate that even if Agent Derek Morgan was simply a fictional character, he had taught us valuable lessons. Granted we all can't be over six-feet, good-looking with great eyebrows, and awesome at kicking some bad guys asses, I hope that whoever takes his place will uphold the great legacy Special Agent Derek Morgan left behind.
I'd like thank Shemar Moore for bringing life into a character, and I hope you find whatever you are looking for in life and you damn sure know that we will always cheer you on whatever new journey you embark on because you're still our baby boy.
