It’s impossible for you not to admit that part of you wants to go on a double date with the perfect couple Marshall and Lily, tag along with Barney’s shenanigans, go to the gun range with Robin to release stress and also be the Ted Mosby’s best friend. I was hesitant to start this show on Netflix, however ever since I've started watching it the laughs just continuously keep on coming. Like any good show, it doesn't take too much time to soon feel as if you're there with the characters, as if you all have a true connection. It has provided us viewers with a range of emotions while also being one of those shows that is somehow always perfect to watch no matter what mood you're in. You can never go wrong with "How I Met Your Mother.” There are some pretty great moments in this comedy relief series and some pretty awesome quotes. Time to start reminiscing and suit up in the words of Barney!
1. “Because sometimes even if you know how something’s gonna end, that doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy the ride.” (Ted, Season 2, Episode 14)
2. “You and Marshall belong together. The two of you have something most people search their whole lives for and never find. I know you love him and if you knew what he was going through right now you wouldn’t be here for one more second. I bought you a ticket home. Marshall is one of the best people I know and it won’t be long until someone else realizes that and you will lose him forever.” (Barney, Season 2, Episode 19)
This part of Season 2 is what we are all thankful for, causing the wedding to be back on. Thanks, Barney!
3. “Lily, there are a million reasons why I love you. You make me laugh, you take care of me when I’m sick, you’re sweet, caring and you even created an egg dish and named it after me. But the main reason is you’re my best friend, Lily. You’re the best friend I’ve ever had.” (Marshall, Season 2, Episode 21)
One of the many times we fell in love with this perfect couple even more.
4. “God, it’s me, Barney. What up? I know we don’t talk much, but I know a lot of girls call out your name because of me. Awesome.” (Barney, Season 4, Episode 7)
Typical Barney response, the show wouldn't be the same without his character.
5. “Look, you can’t design your life like a building. It doesn’t work that way. You just have to live it… and it’ll design itself.” (Lily, Season 4, Episode 24)
Life lessons from Lily, she couldn't be any more right.
6. “A word of advice: play along. The more you fight it, the worse it’s gonna get. It’s like when your car slides on ice, you stir into the skid.” (Ted, Season 6, Episode 13)
7. "In marriage, being right is less important than being supportive. Remember: Happy wife equals happy life." Lily
8. “In my body, where the shame gland should be, there is a second awesome gland. True story.” Barney
9.“The great moments of your life won't necessarily be the things you do, they'll also be the things that happen to you. Now, I'm not saying you can't take action to affect the outcome of your life, you have to take action, and you will. But never forget that on any day, you can step out the front door and your whole life can change forever. You see, the universe has a plan, kids, and that plan is always in motion. A butterfly flaps its wings, and it starts to rain. It's a scary thought, but it's also kind of wonderful. All these little parts of the machine constantly working, making sure that you end up exactly where you're supposed to be, exactly when you're supposed to be there. The right place at the right time." Ted
If there's anything we learn from watching this show, each character shows us a different lesson. There’s the all-time favorite Ted Mosby, who is without a doubt, a hopeless romantic. He has the mindset that girls wish most guys had. He is almost always looking for someone to fall in love with. He puts in his full 100-percent into every girl he potentially will date or is dating currently, theres not much more a girl could ask for.
Effort in a relationship means more than you would think. Next is the crazy adventurous Barney Stinson, who is without a doubt one of a kind. His legendary line most likely will never get old. He definitely lives every day as if its his last day on earth. If there's one thing that Barney teaches us, it would be to step out of out comfort zones and be adventurous. Yes, Barney does refer to himself as awesome a little too much, but we are all pretty awesome we just forget sometimes.
Marshall is the child of the group, you always have to have at least one person like this to balance it all out. We are talking about the dude who gets offended if you don't call the Loch Ness monster a beautiful creature. He of course also believes in silly things such as Bigfoot, aliens and ridiculous creatures such as a cockamouse. Marshall truly inspires each of us to stand up for whatever we believe in, no matter how insanely ridiculous it may be.
Robin is the total opposite as Ted, she's not romantic one bit. Robin summed up in three words would be: independent, cold and brutally honest.
And finally there is good old Lily. All I can say about Lily is that she's committed to her future with her four kids and perfect life she wants them to have. She and Marshall are just too precious. You learn something new with each episode and begin to feel like you are there with them all.
