Quotes Every Girl Should Live By

To all the wonderful girls out there, no matter what life is throwing at you here’s a splash of inspiration to add a little spark to your week.

“No one can make you feel inferior without your consent.” ~ Eleanor Roosevelt

One of the more famous quotes of Eleanor Roosevelt, this is definitely true and will you be the woman you desire to be. Don’t blame others for how you feel, you determine your own emotions. You’re the one that is in control of how you feel, and others can’t bring you down unless you let them, so don’t let them!

“You are more powerful than you know; you are beautiful just as you are.” ~ Melissa Etheridge

Each and every woman is powerful in their own way. Instead of obsessing over perfection, we need to stop spending so much time trying to become beautiful. You already are beautiful, and the power you possess will reveal itself as you mature. Once you realize the true essence of your beauty your life will feel more at ease. You will have more strength and power in each and everything you do.

“Don’t be afraid to speak up for yourself. Keep fighting for your dreams!” ~ Gabby Douglas

Speaking up for yourself is a learned habit, which is why it can often be a difficult task to do. It’s an important skill and one that will benefit you all the days of your life and help you become the best woman you can be. If you don’t fight for yourself then no one will. We are our own supporter. Of course, there are going to be people that try to get in the way of you reaching your dreams and goals but you can’t let them. You need to be powerful in yourself and find the will and courage to have your own voice.

"Power is not given to you. You have to take it.” ~ Beyoncé Knowles

If you want to have power, it’s yours for the taking but you actually have to grab it, it won’t be handed to you. Nothing in life is free. In order to get anywhere nowadays, we need to be assertive. Taking the power may not be an easy task, which is why so many people never get any, but that just makes it that much more worthwhile. With power, you have more control of your life and within that stems the ability to flourish and live more positive life.

“You have what it takes to be a victorious, independent, fearless woman.” ~ Tyra Banks

If you want to conquer the world in a fearless manner, if you want to be independent, and be victorious in the quest to achieve your goals and dreams, you have to believe in yourself. Everything starts with a single belief, nothing is possible without first believing in our power to make it occur. We live in a big chaotic society, which is why it is so important to recognize our potential. To stand out in the midst of terror, negativity and mal intentions.

Life isn't always simple, and no matter how strong we are there are days where we can’t find the means to thrive. We doubt our capabilities; we can't figure how or why.

But there is power in quotes. Something about them can ignite the fire within you, it can make you determined.

So hopefully each of these quotes helped bestow power on girls everywhere. No matter if it's a normal day, a good day, or a bad day, quotes are always inspiring!

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
