Questions To Ask When You're Really Trying To Get To Know Someone
LifeOfTwoHalves

Whether it’s a crush, an acquaintance, a friend or a complete stranger, it can be incredibly difficult to connect and get to know people. When you meet someone for the first time, you really don’t know anything about them. All you know is what’s being presented to you; you know who they are on the outside, but not on the inside. Valuable relationships are based on how well we know one another, and that the depth of which we understand people is based on the types of questions we ask. The answers you receive will tell you so much about a person. Here’s a list of questions you can ask to get to know someone for who they really are. (These are also great questions to ask during late night, heart-to-heart deep conversations.)

1. When people come to you for help, what do they usually want help with?

2. Who’s your go-to band/artist when you can’t decide on something to listen to?

3. What would be your ideal way to spend the weekend?

4. What’s the best thing that happened to you last month/last week/yesterday?

13. When people look at you, what do you think they see/think?

14. What do you want to be remembered for?

15. What would your spirit animal be?

16. What movie can you watch over and over without ever getting tired of it?

17. What are you currently worried about?

18. What mythical creature do you wish actually existed?

19. How do you judge a person?

20. What songs hit you with a wave of nostalgia every time you hear them?

21. Where do you feel most at home?

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
