Hey y'all! I am a new writer and wanted to let you know a little about myself. So grab a cup of coffee, get comfy, and let's get to know each other.

1. If you could describe yourself in one sentence, what would it be?

I am a 20-year-old, coffee obsessed, Jesus loving college student.

2. What are you going to school for?

I am a senior public relations major with a minor in sociology.

3. What are your hobbies?

My number one hobby is Netflix (are you a real college student if this isn't true?). Other hobbies include hiking, reading and writing.

4. What are you currently binge-watching?

" Gilmore Girls." I have to prepare myself for the reunion series. Anyone else super stoked about it?!

5. Are you an introvert or extrovert?

I am an introverted extrovert. I can be shy in certain situations, especially upon first meeting people, but once you get to know me, I swear it's like I never shut up.

6. Who is your person? (My "Grey's Anatomy" fans will understand me on this one.)

My older sister, hands down. She is my absolute best friend. If my life is going down in flames (and let's be real, this happens weekly in college), she is the person I want by my side roasting marshmallows with.

7. Do you believe in second chances?

Absolutely. I am the type of person who gives out chance after chance. If God is willing to do that for me, why shouldn't I do that for others?

8. What fictional character is your look-alike?

Matilda. If only I had her magic powers.

9. What are your favorite flowers?

Daisies.

10. Do you know how to play an instrument?

I played flute for seven years.

11. Who was your first crush?

His name was Steven. We were engaged. It was kindergarten.

12. What do you do to keep fit?

I run away from my problems and responsibilities.

13. What are your beliefs?

I am Christian. But setting religion aside, here are some of the things I believe in: I believe in the smell of coffee early in the morning. In the scratch of pen on paper. I believe that the sun will rise every morning. I believe in the pain of laughter and the warmth of a hug. I believe that endings are full of surprises. That the world around me is as deep as the ocean but also as small as a pebble. I believe in the spark of a hello and the weight of a goodbye. I believe that words are my therapy. That a blink of an eye can change everything (props to my professor for making me write these statements for class).

14. Why you joined Odyssey?

I have been reading articles on here since my freshman year of college. I love reading the things people are passionate about and wanted to join the community to share my passion of writing with my peers.

I hope you enjoyed your coffee. Let's do this again sometime.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
