With my music blasting in my earbuds, I type away on my laptop and smell the delicious aroma of coffee brewing. I take my time making my coffee until it tastes perfect, then settle in and look through my music selection for the perfect homework song. Suddenly, I realize I will be distracted if I do not respond to my snapchats before I start, so I quickly respond and look through people’s stories. When I close out of the app, I see the red circle hovering over my text messages and I hit it to scan my texts when I see that a friend needs to be cheered up after a rough day. I head to Facebook to find funny memes to send to her in order to make her laugh and feel better. Once I have successfully cheered up my friend, I turn to my homework. I write a solid sentence and decide that it is time for a break. I fill my water bottle and watch a YouTube video, check my grades, and then scroll through Pinterest. After messing around, I cringe realizing that I have only written one sentence in an hour’s time. I then focus and work for a half hour, when my door opens and my roommate walks in. I inquire about her day and tell her about mine. Time continues to slip by unbeknownst to me, until I spot the time on my phone... 10:15 pm … I sigh as I realize the pile of homework I have yet to touch. I somehow am able to accomplish all of my work within a few hours. I name myself “Queen of Procrastination.”
