But Do You Really Trust Him?

A little inspiration on how God always shows up and shows up.

But Do You Really Trust Him?

How many times have you found yourself claiming that you were going to put your trust in God, but still end up worrying about the same issue? Personally, I find myself going to church week after week, and still putting my trust in everything but God. Some people go to church just because they know it's the right thing to do. They sit in the same seat every Sunday, hear the pastor preach a dynamic word, and still leave church stressed and depressed. That basically sums up my whole summer. I was just going through the motions Sunday after Sunday, and when issues would arise I'd just accept that "it is what it is."

The "it is what it is" mentality will either make you or break you. Some use this mentality to accept the bad and push forward. Then there are others who use this mentality to accept the bad and just be pessimistic about life in general, that was me but now started to learn that some of the things that I stress over aren't even that serious.

I've recently started my sophomore year at Hampton University, and the first week was very stressful to say the least. I was extremely aggravated and thought that college was getting off to a bad start already. I sat down one day and decided that I needed to change my mindset. Not only did I need to change my mindset, I needed to let God take care of everything. And so I did just that. Let's just say that by the end of the week everything had fallen into place. It's funny how when you stop worrying about everything that's going on, and put your trust and something bigger than yourself that great things really do happen.

Life is hard, and sometimes things just won't go your way. Living life with a negative mentality won't get you anywhere. Stop worrying about everything that's going against you, and trust that everything will work out.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
