When you scroll through Facebook, several times you will see articles titled, “things my future husband should have,” or, “future husband goals.” And let’s face it ladies, we all have a few things in mind that the man in our future should meet, but is that really fair? Why do we have a strict list of perfection that our future husband should have though we don’t have one for ourselves? If you want your husband to have a certain list of qualifications, then you should have the same standard for yourself as well.

If you aspire that your future husband is to have a strong faith in God and would like God to be the foundation of your relationship, then God should be first in your life. In order to have God first, you must put all of your love and faith into Him. God knows who is right for you and who you are meant to be with. God always places people into your life that mold and shape you into the person that you are today. In order to have God be the foundation of your relationship one day, you must trust in Him that He will lead that person to you and will have the person pursue you respectfully.

Psalm 118:8 “It is better to trust in the Lord than to put your confidence in man.”

Meeting the person that God intends for you to be with is all about God’s timing. God is shaping you into the woman that you are supposed to be before you are meant to pursue a relationship with the man that you are meant to spend the rest of your life with. God is allowing you to pursue your dreams and grow into the best woman that you can be. He is also doing that for your future husband as well. For those of you that just haven’t found that special, Godly man yet, God is working in your life and it will come to you in God’s timing. Trust in the Lord and first become the Proverbs 31 woman in Christ. A man who will lead you to God and not to sin is always worth the wait. For those of you that have possibly found that special man, continuously pray and to grow in your relationship with Christ. In every relationship, not just romantic, you must ask yourself, “Does this person lead me to Christ or away from Christ?” The man that not only just goes through the motions of going to church with you every now and then is different than a man that lives for Christ.

Meeting someone that God wants you to spend the rest of your life with can be exciting and something that many believe that they should hurry, but only God knows what is truly best for you and what is in His perfect timing.

Proverbs 3:5-6 “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not onto your own understanding. In all your ways, acknowledge Him and He will direct your path.”

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
