Purchase College fall semester 2015: a sea of disappointments.
For all the money that we pay there seems to be a lot of discontent among the students about a lot of the school's services. The Loop bus, which is a vital resource for many students, especially commuters, and teachers, has been failing constantly this semester. This is a service that many rely on to get to work, to class, etc. and when it doesn't run properly it disrupts people's schedules and causes issues if they're late. The people I've spoken to have had to take cabs or had to hitchhike when the Loop doesn't show up for an hour or more after it was supposed to. Although the school keeps saying it is fixing the issues, the Loop still skips stops, and doesn't carry enough people ever since they reduced the bus capacity, leaving many who need its service stranded.
The issues don't end there; the meal plan had to be changed because of the many complaints, but the food quality is still an issue. The general feeling I've gotten from speaking to several students is that the food at the dinning hall is disappointing and unappetizing and that Terrave and The Hub get very repetitive. The food is a day to day thing that is really necessary for students who dorm and don't really have the option to cook unless they're in an apartment.
These are some of the most important services of the school that are severely lacking in quality. Those who run this should look into the concerns and needs of the students. The Loop needs to run consistently because people rely on it to get to places on time every single day. More variety needs to be given in regards to food, and better quality food as well. Students pay a lot of money every year for these services and don't get what they pay for.
