Pullman Bars As Told By Spongebob

Spongebob can deeply connect to our Pullman Bars

Pullman Bars As Told By Spongebob
Figment

Being a student at Washington State University is one of the biggest blessings, but that changes after 2 years. Being 21 in Pullman is a whole other story. Mikes, The Coug, and Valhalla all have a special place in your heart for all different reasons.

1. Syllabus Week bar crawls

Syllabus week is the biggest time of the year for Washington State University students. Going to the bars on syllabus week is not shy of Vegas... just in the middle of nowhere. There is no patience for being reunited with the bars.

2. The constant battle of the three

We have three beautiful, amazing and crowded bars constantly fighting for our attention. Each have their perks and downfalls but which one will hold our dignities for the night?

3. Death by Stubby Tuesday

You bet us degenerates are grabbing our glasses and marching over to Mike's. $6.50 for any sugary drink in one big glass? Yeah. We'll take the hangover in our Com 300 class.

4. "WTF IS MUG CLUB?!?"

A frequently asked question by the underclassmen. This club will always be worth your time and money spent. $1 beers forever? Exactly. Mind blowing.

5. Wing Wednesday at Valhalla

Wednesday is indulging in all the greasy, sticky hot wings and inhaling 3 pitchers of Blue Moon while you're at it. You don't gain calories at Valhalla right?

6. We strangely love cages and dance floors?

We all hold these dear to our heart. This is not like the sticky and muddy floors in fraternities or apartment parties... we have beautiful, crowded cages to be the exotic dancers we are and dance battles in between the bar and DJ booth.

.

7. Apple Cup in Pullman

Don't get us wrong, we love Apple Cup hosted in our home... but our home is tainted with the color purple. We dread sharing our territory with such buzzkills.

8. Who do they know here?

Honestly, we don't get it. We tolerate you coming for Apple Cup every other year. But we don't get why you're at our bars for Syllabus week, Halloweek, Easter, Columbus Day etc. Explain. Please.

9. Anything but Sunday...Please

Between all three bars, there is always a special everyday for us to drink for cheap... except for Sunday. Sunday waits for us after a long week of bar crawls.

10. Pullman Bars > Bars

I went home once... let's just say, Pullman's bars are Spongebob's hand and home's bars are Squidward's hand. Enough said.

11. Till death do us part

No matter the age we're at, we will no doubt be the Alumni out to party with the current students and will be down for a hurricane Katrina at one of the three bars.

12. It's an irreplaceable love

No one will ever understand the love we have for our Pullman bars. No average person will ever be able to empathize with our heartbreak of leaving the bars for summer... or for good. Where else will we meet the love of our life or need only one AMF?

13. But it's never a Goodbye

We'll always be back for more. It's never a goodbye to our wild and inappropriate antics. We'll be back for you Pullman.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
