A lot of people I know ask me if getting a Netflix account is worth it. I have had Netflix for about four years, and I am here to lay out some of the pros and cons of having Netflix and my personal opinion on Netflix.
Pros:
1. Inexpensive
It is relatively inexpensive to have a Netflix Account. For two lines it is $8.75/month. If you are someone like me and you do not really need over a hundred channels to entertain yourself, why buy cable, that can cost somewhere between $50/month and up?
NBC
2. New and Old
One of my favorite things about Netflix is the variety it offers. There are documentaries about all kinds of topics. There are movies from the 1940's or even movies that have come out in the last couple of years. One of the best aspect of Netflix is their archive of TV shows. You can watch a series from the start and everything up to the current season, which you have to wait for.
NBC
3. No TV Needed
I am currently in college and my roommate and I did not bring a television with us. This may seem very strange, but we both have Netflix accounts and smart phones and laptops. The best feature Netflix offers is the ability to have it on the go. As long as there is some sort of internet connection, you can watch Netflix anywhere. This works well with my roommate and I because we can watch what we want at the same time, without fighting over what we should watch. She can watch episodes of "Supernatural," while I watch "Gilmore Girls," everyone is happy.

The CW & Warner Bros.Television
Cons:
1. Is There Anything New?
As a person who has had Netflix for four years, sometimes I question if there is anything new. Even though there is no way I have watched everything on Netflix, it often feels like there is nothing new and I wish there was more. On my Netflix account only receives new items about once a month. Some months are better than others, but it really just depends on what you are interested in watching.
Disney
2. With New Additions, Comes Great Losses
When Netflix decides to add news items, they usually take other items away. A customer expressed that it feels like when this occurs, they always seem to take away great movies and add not so great movies. For example, she stated that they took away a classic, such as, "Dirty Dancing," and added "Nymphomaniac: Volume II." It would be awesome if Netflix could leave them all on there, but we are not that fortunate. "Nobody puts baby in the corner," or takes her off Netflix.
Vestron Pictures
3. Confusing Categories
The categories on Netflix can be great, or sometimes completely confusing. A customer expressed to me that the categories are not very accurate for her as a viewer. For example, she stated that you may have watched "16 Candles" and because you watched ... this, you may like this Adolf Hitler documentary. These titles are not related, so why have does Netflix suggest it? This is the biggest issue regarding using Netflix.
20th Century Fox Television
Overall, if I were going to rate Netflix on a scale of one to 10, (one being terrible and 10 being the best), I would give it a 7.5. Although there are some flaws and drawbacks to Netflix, I like it better than having cable.
