Having a younger sibling is a wonderful thing, but there are times when you probably want to strangle them. Growing up with a younger sibling teaches you many things such as patience, learning to share, how to clean up a mess before your parents find it and many other things. Younger siblings can bring out a horrible side you didn’t even know you had, or they can bring out the absolute best in you.
Cons:
I think this one is pretty obvious even to people who don’t have a younger sibling: They will drive you absolutely crazy.
If your younger sibling is like mine, he will have more friends than you. Also, your friends might tell you that he’s cooler than you.
No matter what the age difference is, at one point you were the baby, and they took that carefree, spoiled life from you.
Along with them being the baby, they learn from your mistakes and seemingly never get into trouble with mom and dad.
Chances are you will probably have to babysit them sometime in your life. Chances also are you probably already had plans.
Pros:
They will always look up to you, so make sure you are a positive role model for them. Though, this could be a con depending on how responsible you want to be.
Their friends will think you are the coolest thing ever.
You experience things in life before they do, so you can give them encouragement and advice.
When it comes to sporting events or recitals, etc, there are times when you can get out of going to theirs, but they will always have to watch yours.
When they finally do get in trouble with mom and dad, it’s a glorious a feeling.
They can be your best friend because they’re stuck with you for life.
No matter what you do, they will always love you at the end of the day.
When it comes to having a younger sibling, I believe the pros outweigh the cons. I will always be thankful that I have a younger brother by my side through my joys and my trials, and remember, what your sibling thinks about the boy/girl you bring home matters the most. Don’t take them for granted; they are wonderful little demons that you get to keep around forever.
