It's Christmas break, which means that you're probably catching up with your favorite series on Netflix, The Office, myself included. After watching a few episodes, I mean, a few seasons (c'mon, it's Christmas break), I started to notice that I was relating to Michael Scott more than I had when I watched the series a few years ago. Then it hit me; Michael really must be a college student in disguise. Don't believe me? Here's the proof:
When you first get a class syllabus and it's more complicated and ridiculous than the class is worth.
But then you find out attendance is optional.
Asking for help when everything in lecture makes absolutely no sense to you.
When you check your bank account for the first time in a few days/weeks.
But for some reason, you'll always the poor choice and agree to going out.
And when you do go out, you make even poorer choices when it comes to the drinks.
And of course, when your friends can't talk you out of your drunken mishaps.
When your friend starts packing up their things to leave class early, leaving you alone.
Or when they just don't show up to class all together.
When your parents call and ask how you've been.
Or when they ask what you've been doing.
Seeing freshmen on orientation days who look like this.
Don't forget about stumbling your way through a presentation you threw together last minute.
When finals sneak up on you near the end of the semester
But when you try to study, your brain always seems to wonder off into space.
When there are questions on the final that were never covered in class.
Seeing that you somehow miraculously passed everything.
When graduation is coming up, and people are talking about how much they'll miss college.
And above everything, realizing how you thought college would be all fun, but really it's slowly driven you crazy.
