B, this I promise you:

1. I promise to answer every phone call, day or night no matter how small the crisis.

If you go out to a party and need someone to pick you up, no questions asked you'll get in my car and I won't tell your mom.

2. I promise to always lend an ear to whatever your problems are, whether it's an ex-boyfriend, a broken nail, or you need to hide a body. I'm your girl.

3. I promise to hold all your secrets without any judgment because I PROMISE you, I've done worse than you'll ever do.

4. I promise to always be an advocate for your well being to always have your best interest in mind and to always love you even when you do the opposite of what I say.

5. I promise to love on you and praise you with goodness, but to also let you know when you've royally messed things up.

6. I promise to always wipe away your tears and hold you tight when something doesn't go your way and remind you that God's will is better than anything you or I could have planned for you.

7. I promise to pray over you daily for your health and your heart.

8. I promise that I will always be with you no matter how far away I am, whatever country or state or town.

I am always here with you, a phone call or a plane ride.

9. I promise to remind you to be kind and gentle but to still stand up for yourself.

10. I promise to laugh at you and pick on you so you can grow to have a sense of humor.

11. I promise to protect you from all the evil that I can, to hunt after those who hurt you, and to always put you back together again.

These are just the beginning of my promises to you, my sweet B. I want you to know that in whatever situation that life throws at you, that I am on your side. I only want what is best for you, my dear.

You are SO loved and you have already touched the lives of so many! Thank you for being 'my kid' and mirroring all of my habits (more of the good than bad). I love having you as my shadow. You have impacted my life in so many positive ways. You are what makes life worth living when all seems gray. I love you, bunny!

Love always,

Aunt Madison

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
