I'd honestly rather bathe my cat.

Being in college is hard. In most classes, it takes a lot of effort as a student to achieve a decent and passing grade. I’m almost positive that I’ve been told by every single one of my professors not to put assignments off. I tell myself that this week will be different, but it never is. Here is a condensed list of all the things I’d rather do than read my textbook.

1. Watch cute cat videos.

I love all cute animals, but I could watch cat videos all day! They are such smart creatures, but they’re not always that bright. Everyone knows someone with a crazy cat.

2. Find better memes.

Caption this, okay go! My boyfriend is constantly sending me new funny memes. I try to stay a step ahead of him at all times.

3. Scroll through every single social media account I have.

I know I can’t be the only one who will stay on Facebook for hours just to put off studying. I can for real go from watching a touching dog/owner reunion to watching a slow loris eating a rice ball.

4. Play my online farm game.

I get a reward for every solid hour of playtime, and so far I’ve been awarded 82 of those. While I’m playing my farm game, the time is not displayed on my screen so I really have no idea how long I’ve been playing until I manually look to see what time it is.

5. Watch "American Idol" audition videos.

I enjoy watching the audition rounds. Some people think that they’re going to blow the judges out of the water, but it’s the ones who have no idea how talented they are that make the show worth it.

6. Search me on Google.

Has anyone else ever done this? I like to see what actually pertains to me, because most of it pertains to another Sarah Holliman who is an older blonde. Crazy that there are so many people out there with the same name.

7. Give my cat a bath.

Her face is the only caption I need here.

8. Take selfies with my cat.

Cricket deserves all the pets. She also loves to cover up my double chin for me.

9. Go walking with my dog.

Basil is the best boy who deserves all the walks. I don’t always want to leave my bed, but I try to make sure he gets exercise when the weather is nice.

10. Take selfies with my dog.

He may not act amused here, but he actually likes having his picture taken.

11. Take naps.

Cuddling with my best boy>>>anything school related. He makes it so hard to leave for class every morning.

12. Hang out with my friends.

I’d much rather have great conversation and fun times with my friends than study. I value my relationships more than my future at times, and that can be a problem.

13. Travel anywhere else and not come back.

I just want to see everything there is to see in the world. If I could take a few years off of everything and just travel, I would be so happy. Just look at this bench next to a freaking mountain. One day I could say that I sat on that very bench.

14. Clean out my closet.

Seriously, I don’t know why I do this, but for some reason, I would rather clean out my closet at 3 a.m. than study anything in my textbooks. I will find just about anything to do before I’ll actually sit down and study.

15. Fall off a cliff.

This is a joke, but still. You can’t spell “studying” without “dying.”

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
